PowerX Signs a Partnership Agreement with the City of Yokohama to Explore Utilization of the Battery Tanker

PowerX, Inc. (Head Office: Minato City, Tokyo, Japan; Director, President & CEO: Masahiro Ito, hereafter, “PowerX”) has signed a collaboration agreement with the City of Yokohama for the utilization of the Battery Tanker and storage batteries. The agreement aims to support the city’s initiatives towards establishing a carbon-neutral port.

PowerX will collaborate with the City of Yokohama, home to Yokohama Port, a leading comprehensive port in Japan, to explore next-generation energy infrastructure utilizing the Battery Tanker.

Key points of the agreement include:

• Exploring the transportation of renewable energy by Battery Tanker for use by local companies located in the coastal area of Yokohama City.
• Considering infrastructure development utilizing storage batteries and IT to promote the storage, supply, and utilization of renewable energy.
• Exploring initiatives to enhance regional resilience, such as creating new industries and securing power supply during natural disasters.
